International Business Mediation Mediation is an informal procedure, a "business talk". The mediator's position is processoriented. Thus, he or she can help business partners to avoid and resolve conflict in a collaborative and non-hostile way, since settlements are virtually negotiated by the so-called disputants themselves. Mediation
as a conflict resolutin strategy seems to be particularly effective for
settling disputes between small- and medium size businesses who have to
watch costs. The mediator observes, channels, helps and assists - but, crucially, does not make decisions. The decision remains entirely in the hands of both of the parties involved. |
