for Germany and Scandinavia. Interculturalists have drawn the attention
of managers to the large-scale implications of cultural factors which
are only too often underestimated. The costs however, in failures of cross-border
negotiations and acquistions due to cultural conflict are enormous. Here,
mediation or "assisted negotiation" - may open new possibilities
for solving such conflicts.
The form that firms need is not knowledge for handling cultural differencies,
but the knowledge as value-adding know-how for facilitating cross-cultural
knowledge-sharing in their particular organisational environments and
business domains.
Intercultural performance: Communication process seems to be simple and
automatic but it is complex human functions and need nowadays more attention.
Communication is an exchange of meaning of information an ideas. The basic
is to transmit a message from a sender to receiver with at least possible
loss of meaning. Intercultural practice must be grounded on a solid conceptual
foundation of theory and research.
